Hoyas visit Notre Dame on national tv

The Georgetown University women’s basketball squad will travel to the University of Notre Dame Jan. 15 for a Big East Conference matchup with the No. 2 Fighting Irish in Indiana. The Hoyas are currently 10-6 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

The game will be televised live on CBS Sports Network with James Bates and Tammy Blackburn calling the action.

In its last outing, Georgetown (10-6, 1-2) have lost two conference matches in a row after falling 86-56 at Syracuse Jan. 12. Sugar Rodgers led the way for the Blue & Gray with 17 points and nine rebounds.

Rodgers averages 25.3 points per game and 7.9 rebounds per game as well as posting 57 steals and 52 assists. Andrea White is second with 10.7 ppg and 5.4 rpg, while senior center St. John’s College Prep High grad Sydney Wilson rounds out the top three with 7.1 ppg as well as 5.5 rpg.

Notre Dame is 14-1 on the season and 3-0 in the conference play after defeating Rutgers University, 71-46, in South Bend, Ind., Jan. 12. The Fighting Irish have four players averaging in double figures. Skylar Diggins and Kayla McBride lead the way with 15.1 ppg. Natalie Achonwa contributes more than 9 rpg.
