The brawl to beat all brawls. Man against man against the weather and the bass fish of Lake Toho in Kissimmee, Florida. In a Bassmaster Fishing Tournament you don’t plan on fishing down to a duel but that is just what happened today.
The final day of the Southern Open, Daniel Lanier came to the weigh-in first with 16-12 and final stringer weight of 47-2. Richard Howes had 32-8 Friday, Saturday he caught 14-10, and tied total 47-2 with Daniel Lanier for first place.
Surprise, fishing overtime
According to Bassmaster Tournament Rules there’s no such thing as a tie. You can’t split the pay off, the brand new Skeeter Bass Boat Yamaha combination and the $10,000. Lanier hooked 3-10 and Howes fished 9-10, without a doubt now Howes is going to the 2014 Bassmaster Classic.
The next Southern Opens will take place
April 4-6 Douglas Lake, Tennessee
Bassmaster Classic on Grand Lake Oklahoma February 22-24, 2013
