Looking for big bass in the grass. The weather is fabulous today, day two of the 2013 Bassmaster Southern Open. Lake Taho is beautiful at Kissimmee, Florida and a great fishery. It started warming up this afternoon and the big ones started swimming around so let’s see what happened.
Chris Lane Lake Guntersville, Alabama brought in to a total of 25 pounds even for two days. “You try to win every event, but you do the best you can with what you got.” Hold on Chris we are pulling for you anything is possible in the battle of the ounces, you aren’t that far out of the lead.
The first twenty-pound bag of the day also took first place Richard Howes Ocala, Florida whips it good (from 29th to first place) and comes in and makes up the thirty something pound difference from Lanier, with an upswing 20-2 stringer and a two-day total of 32-8. The next one closest to Howes, is Trevor Fitzgerald (full time policeman with his own rods now too) in 4th place with 18-9, for a two-day total of 31-5. Daniel Lanier Winter Springs, Florida who had the humdinger first place for the first day of the Southern Open with 27-7, slid down to the number six spot with just 2-11.
Second place goes to Tracy Adams Wilkesboro, North Carolina (qualified for the 2013 Bassmaster Classic by way of the Southern Open) yesterday 18-7 for second place. Today Adams has held tightly to his second place for two days in a row now with 13-3 for a two-day weigh-in of 31-10. We need to keep an eye on that one, slow and steady wins the race. The third place goes to Brandon Lester with a two-day string of 31-9 Fayetteville, Tennessee, he moves up from yesterday’s sixth place with 16-14.
