Howell Living History Farm opens for season with annual ice harvest

Howell Living History Farm in Lambertville, NJ will open Jan. 26 for their annual ice harvest. Visitors are invited to help the farmers harvest the ice from the farm’s pond to be used for the upcoming year.

Visitors can take turns using ice saws and other tools to harvest the ice and help fill the ice house. Between 1-3 p.m., visitors will be able to make their own snow cones and ice cream.

From 11-3 p.m., children can participate in the craft program and make ice candles. The cost for the materials is $3 and takes approximately 20 minutes. Pre-registering is only required for groups of eight or more.
