Howe-Peterson Funeral Home and Cremation Services is inviting people to bring their family and friends to its special holiday memorial program in Dearborn this weekend.

“Season of Remembrance, a holiday memorial” is being held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Park Place, 23400 Park (corner of Outer Drive). The program will include giving a brief presentation, placing an ornament (provided by the funeral home) to place on Howe-Peterson's Memory Tree, and providing music and refreshments.

“It's for all the families who've lost a loved one or friend during the past year,” said a greeter for the Howe-Peterson funeral home at 22546 Michigan Ave. in Dearborn, who would only identify herself as “Cindy.” “We would like to provide them goodwill and goodcheer.

“Their deceased will receive a nice little tribute,” she said.

Howe-Peterson has been doing the program annually “for a long time,” Cindy said. The deadline has already passed last month to have the loved ones' name and/or photo included in this year's holiday memorial.

However, anyone who cannot attend attend the Dec. 7 memorial program can still come to the Howe Peterson's Dearborn Chapel (or the Taylor Chapel at 9800 S. Telegraph) to write their loved one's name on an ornament provided by Howe-Peterson, “and we'll place it on our tree.” The funeral home hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily.

If anyone has questions on the memorial program, they can email info@howepeterson.com, or call the Dearborn Chapel at (313) 561-1500.
