Howdy folks, the end is near for the State Fair

Big Tex has been welcoming people to the fair since 1952.
Big Tex has been welcoming people to the fair since 1952.

This is the last week for the fair, and we must say goodbye, until 2011. It’s still not too late to embark on the festivities. The weather is great, and who can miss the most creative food for this year, fried beer? If you do not attend this year, you’ll have to wait another painful year to ride the ferris wheel, and take a glimpse at Big Tex.

So all in all, as we end the fair for the year 2010, who won, and what events still remain?

2009 Best Taste Fernie's Deep Fried Peaches & Cream
2010 Most Creative Fried Beer™
2010 Best Taste Texas Fried FRITOS® Pie

Concert events:

On Sunday, October 17, Collective Soul will take the main stage @ 5:30 p.m. With the appealing sounds that once persistently ran through all the radio stations in the early 90’s with hits such as, “The World I know, and Shine.” In 1994, they broke out into the music industry scene, and ventured to continue to create hit after hit. They were asked to perform for the Woodstock ’94 list. They became mainstream hitting media outlets everywhere. As they continue to tour, and release albums they still remain a constant reminder of how music from almost twenty years ago, can still remain today.

Don’t miss the food, the livestock, and the carnival rides. The end is near, Sunday, October 17th.
