Howard Stern snuffed out rumors that he was considering a return to terrestrial radio with a rant on the idiocy of internet gossipmongers and the stink of censorship on Monday morning's Howard Stern Show broadcast.
Howard Stern specifically cited an article in Business Week online that misquoted him as saying that he had received "offers" from terrestrial radio companies, when what Stern really said was that "people have been making inquiry."
Howard Stern, who often points out that he is vilified by the media, was also accused of dangling the terrestrial radio offer in the public arena to boost a potential offer from Sirius XM when his contract ends with them next.
“I don’t want to be censored when I do a show. Why the hell would I stay on terrestrial radio?" snarled Howard Stern. "Just because I said some people call me from time to time doesn’t mean I’m actually going back.”
Howard Stern said that he read about fifty articles online over the weekend misquoting his statements about conversations he's had with terrestrial radio representatives. Howard Stern had a tip for writer looking for a quote on the topic in the future: "I always say the same thing-no interest!"
Howard Stern then launched into another classic attack against those who state that he's lost cultural relevancy since moving from free radio to pay subscription radio.

I'm glad he's sticking to his principles, but I'd still like to see it happen.
