Howard Stern Show highlights: Howard almost had a baby, Jewel in studio

The Howard Stern Show for Tuesday, February 5, 2013 featured the following highlights:

1. Jewel in studio: Singer Jewel returned to Studio 69 to promote her new Greatest Hits album. Jewel not only sang her first big hit "Who Will Save Your Soul?" she also covered "Silver Nickels and Golden Dimes"--written by Howard Stern as a child. Jewel delivered a killer interview, sharing details about moving out on her own at age 15 and surviving on her own. See a video clip of Jewel on the Howard Stern Show here

2. Howard was almost a baby daddy again: Howard talked for the first time on air about the fact that he and his wife Beth Ostrosky Stern considered having a baby last year. The Howard Stern Examiner reported the story when Beth O talked about it on "The View" in June 2012, but Howard didn't comment on the story until Tuesday.

"Last year, my wife and I were considering having a baby," said Stern. "We came extremely close but we ended up changing our minds...I opened my heart to the idea, and my wife was feeling like maybe she wanted to have a kid. I kind of got scared last minute...I think I'll have regrets if she's unhappy she wants a kid. I want that woman to be happy. She's a great woman."

3. Jenny McCarthy bumped: Howard Stern Show producer Gary "Baba Booey" Dell'Abate pulled a classic move, booking both Jewel and Jenny McCarthy to appear on the show in the 8 a.m. hour. Gary came up with the brilliant "Amazing Race" style suggestion that they feature whichever guest showed up in studio first. Howard took the reins and asked Gary to bump Jenny McCarthy to another day since Jewel came in from out of town.
