Howard Stern's cousin, famed comic book artist Jack Adler, passed away Sunday night at the age of 94.
Stern dedicated the opening of Tuesday morning's Howard Stern Show to rembrances of his super cool Cousin Jack. Stern called Adler a "genius" photographer who supported his passion by becoming a comic book artist.

Adler was first hired as a cover artist and colorist for DC Comics in 1946. His art was featured on the covers of comics including 'Green Lantern', 'G.I. Combat' and 'Sea Devils'. He won the 'Shazam Award' for 'Best Colorist' in 1971. By the time Adler retired from DC in 1981, he had become Vice President of Production.
In addition to his many artistic accomplishments, Stern credits his Cousin Jack with saving him from failing out of high school. Stern says he was warned by his senior year psychology teacher that he would almost certainly fail the class, but after Stern presented his recorded interview with his hypochondriac Cousin Jack, his teacher was so impressed by the display of pathology she gave Stern a passing grade.
"Jack saved my life many times," Stern told his listeners Tuesday. "He was a free spirit. I loved him. He was bordering on genius. He WAS a genius....My mom called to tell me Jack had passed away on Sunday night, and I will miss him."
Stern says that Adler "died in his sleep at 94....like you're supposed to."
