Howard Stern collected his thoughts about Howard Stern Show co-host Artie Lange over the weekend and wasn't afraid to tell his audience that Artie Lange's suicide attempt has left him heartbroken.
"My poor Artie," said Howard Stern on Monday morning's Howard Stern Show broadcast. "I think he really wanted to check out."
Howard Stern vigorously defended Artie Lange against a douchey caller who tried to characterize Artie Lange's actions as "weak".
"You're judging him and you don't even know what's going on," Howard Stern. "I'm not one of those people that blames, because sometimes you're so far gone you're not thinking 'I want a road back, I just want a road out'" said Howard Stern.
Artie Lange attempted suicide last Saturday by stabbing himself 9 times in the abdomen with a 13 inch kitchen knife.
Howard Stern, who admitted he whines over the slightest paper cut, said that thoughts of Artie Lange's violent suicide attempt haunted him over the weekend. "I would think about what he did to himself and it blows my mind. It's just too hard for me to comprehend."
Artie Lange's future with the Howard Stern Show is uncertain, but Sirius XM executives have publicly announced that Artie Lange still has a job with the Howard Stern Show if he wants it.
