Howard Stern responded Wednesday to news that American Idol Season 3 winner Fantasia Barrino attempted suicide by overdose earlier this week.

Howard Stern Show fans wondered if Stern would say anything at all about Barrino's overdose due to his own history with HSS co-host in absentia Artie Lange's suicide attempt earlier this year.

Robin Quivers brought up the Fantasia OD story during her daily Howard Stern Show news segment, stating that Barrino had overdosed on aspirin and sleep aids.

"Well, is that really suicide?" asked Howard Stern with detached humor.  "An aspirin?  You take an aspirin and they're calling that a suicide attempt?"

"I think it was more than one aspirin," responded Quivers patiently.

"Two whole aspirin?" joked Stern.

While Fantasia Barrino's suicide attempt is no laughing matter, it sure does pale in comparison drama-wise with Artie Lange's decision to stab himself nine times with a 13 inch kitchen knife at the beginning of this year.

"Good news is, she doesn't have a headache," added Stern.

Quivers went on to explain that Barrino's overdose was triggered by rumors that a sex tape had surfaced featuring the singer getting intimate with her married boyfriend Antwaun Cook.

"Don't worry," said Howard, not joking at all this time.  "Nobody wants to see that. I don’t want to see a Fantasia Barrino sex tape. I’m not looking for that. I really don’t want to see that.”
