Artie Lange was not in the Howard Stern Show studio Monday morning, and we don't know much more than that.
After Saturday night's announcement that Howard Stern Show second banana Artie Lange had been hospitalized for undisclosed reasons, Howard Stern Show fans tuned in bright and early on Monday morning half-expecting an immediate announcment and detailed explanation of Artie Lange's whereabouts. After 44 minutes of cheerful banter between Howard Stern and co-host Robin Quivers, a fan finally begged Howard Stern to take mercy on his fans and comment on the Artie Lange situation.
Howard Stern said firmly:
"We know Artie has problems. He's documented them well in books and on this radio show, but look--the family is saying that this is their business. This is what they want to talk about when they want to talk about it and I honor that. That's all you're going to get out of me."

Robin Quivers went on to express her affection for Artie Lange as well, describing him as "the most loving-giving guy".
