Howard Stern considering move to internet radio

Howard Stern Examiner
Howard Stern revealed on Thursday morning's
Howard Stern Show broadcast that he's considering taking the show to the internet when his contract with Sirius XM satellite radio expires in January 2011.
Friend of the Howard Stern Show Adam Carolla found a home through internet radio when he began podcasting shortly after his terrestrial radio show was canceled. Adam Carolla took Howard Stern's terrestrial radio timeslot after Stern headed for Sirius XM, but was unable to score enough ratings to stay afloat.
Dropping hints about jumping ship for internet radio may be nothing more than a negotiation tactic for Howard Stern to let his Sirius XM bosses know that he's got plenty of options.
“I want to see [Sirius XM] be successful,” said Howard Stern on Thursday's broadcast. “We’ll see what happens."
