After battling cancer for 17 months, Robin Quivers returned to the "Howard Stern Show" to partner along with longtime friend and co-worker Howard Stern. UPI.com reported on Oct. 2, 2013, that Quivers returned to the studio on Wednesday morning and ready to get back to work.
"I could never be without you again," Stern told Quivers during his broadcast on SiriusXM Radio. "Seriously, I've been praying for this day and I'm happy that you're here, and it makes me very, very happy." Quivers and Stern previously kept her cancer diagnosis and treatment secret and she had already rejoined the show, participating via a home studio.
Quivers, at 61-years-old, just opened up about her long battle with cancer last month. She revealed that she has been dealing with a cancerous tumor in her bladder that was successfully cured through a combination of radiation, surgery, and chemotherapy.
Howard Stern has been vocal about his concerns for Quivers and wondering if she would ever return to the show and him. Quivers quipped to Stern on Wednesday's first show back and she said, "I had a feeling you thought this day would never come."
"You know what, honestly, I did not think this day would come... I was very, very depressed over your illness. I wasn't sure what the outcome was going to be," Stern said. "There was a time I really did think I was going to lose you permanently. And I'll tell you what, this is a pretty remarkable day, that you are here triumphant and cured. I never would have predicted this."
Still, Robin Quivers was back and all smiles in the studio. Stern once said he would not continue his show without her, but now he doesn't have to.
