Howard Stern has apologized for slamming Lena Dunham, Us Magazine reported on Jan. 15. Stern reportedly made his apology on his radio show earlier this week, admitting that he may have spoken out of line when he called Durham a “fat chick.”
"I felt bad because I really do love the show Girls, and enjoy it, and I admire the girl who writes it," Stern said on-air. "It makes me feel bad, and I think she is getting the impression that I somehow think she's just a talentless little fat chick."
Stern had previously slammed Dunham and her HBO show, “Girls” last week, referring to Durham as "a little fat girl who kind of looks like Jonah Hill."
"It's a little fat girl who kinda looks like Jonah Hill and she keeps taking her clothes off and it kind of feels like rape. She seems -- it's like -- I don't want to see that," Stern joked on air. "I learned that this little fat chick writes the show and directs the show and that makes sense to me because she's such a camera hog that the other characters barely are on."
26-year-old writer, director, actress Dunham won two Golden Globes awards at the 2013 Golden Globes; Best Actress in a Comedy and Best Comedy for the HBO show.
