Howard Stern and David Letterman rip 'weasel' Jay Leno (VIDEO)

Howard Stern and David Letterman spent a good portion of Wednesday night's 30th Anniversary Late Show broadcast ripping into fellow rival and proven "weasel" Jay Leno.

Stern told Letterman that his new gig as a judge on NBC's America's Got Talent doesn't mean he'll be dividing his late night loyalties.

"I’m going to work for NBC on America’s Got Talent and they sat down with me and we had a big meeting—this is last week—about promoting the show and all this kind of stuff. They sat down with me and they said: ‘Listen. You’ll do the Today Show and of course you’ll do Jay Leno. I looked at them and shot them a look and I said: ‘You know, I’m a Letterman guy'."

Stern chided Letterman for his recent statements that his late night war with Leno was "over," accusing Dave of being "like Rihanna" in his willingness to return to an abusive relationship. Letterman quickly and hilariously clarified:

"I didn’t say the war was over...I was upset about the People’s Choice Awards...and I said: ‘If Jay Leno wins the People’s Choice Awards, it’s like hearing that Manson has been paroled’. So now, as the days go by and I’m continuing to harp on the PCAs…I got to thinking about it: ‘Yeah, maybe that was a little harsh’.”

Letterman added that sometimes it's just best to let go:

"Do I really want to spend the rest of my life fighting weasels? Of course I don’t.”

Jay Leno has been on Howard Stern's black list for decades. In addition to stealing (and later shelving) Stern's writer "Stuttering" John Melendez, Leno has been accused of stealing dozens of jokes and sketch concepts from the Howard Sern Show.

Leno infamously snatched The Tonight Show out from under Letterman's nose back in 1992
