Howard Stern accused of wearing a wig

Howard Stern Show wannabe nemesis Chaunce Hayden is now going after the King of All Media's crown of lustrous locks.

The D-List gossip columnist caught the attention of a Village Voice blogger on Tuesday after claiming to have insider information that Howard Stern's famous mop of curly black hair is a fake. Hayden claims that Howard Stern's coif is a product of Farrell Hair Systems-a New York City wigmaking company. His evidence? A signed photo of Howard Stern on spotted on the Farrell Hair Systems New York City salon wall.

Hayden has been trying to incite an on-air feud with Howard Stern since he was booted from the Howard Stern Show in 2005. He recently published a merciless article ridiculing Howard Stern Show co-host Artie Lange for his violent suicide attempt and blaming Howard Stern for not responding to Lange's "cries for help" sooner. Hayden's attempt to bait Stern into a vitriolic on-air rage fell short. Howard Stern never even mentioned the article on air.

Hayden is likely hoping that Howard Stern's vanity will force him to respond to claims that he wears a wig. If Howard Stern were to mention the story on-air, it would mean big business for his New Jersey based celebrity scandal ragsheet "Steppin' Out".

If you like Sirius XM/Howard Stern, and can stomach re-living the dip to 5 cents/share, then see their “rags to riches” story on DVD. The movie is called “Stock Shock” and it goes over the history, development, and near-death experience of the stock. I did not know the inventor of sirius xm was a woman!–well she is now, at least. DVD is cheaper at the movie website , but the DVD is pretty much everywhere for sale or rent.

Yes. In the garden, growth has it seasons. First comes spring and summer, but then we have fall and winter. And then we get spring and summer again.

I've read allot of comments lately that point to Howard wearing a wig.

Allot of people point to the on air discussion with Hanzi from about 2 weeks ago. Hanzi shaves his head, but claims to have a pretty full head of hair.

Howard's response to that news was a bit over the top. He seemed stunned that anyone with a full head of hair would shave their head. I'm not sure if that proves anything, but Howard did sound very emotionally invested in the topic.

Maybe there is some merit to this long lived rumor.

At least Howard's smart enough to see through this guy's attempts at publicity.

    RE: Tony

Interesting point. I gotta think it's more inline with the false rumors about Howard wearing dentures. At the very least, he probably dies it these days.

Howard claims not to die his hair but that would be really amazing in my opinion if it were true. I've never seen a 56-year old with dark hair who wasn't going gray. I tend to believe Howard on most things but he did lie to us about getting a nose job. The only thing that makes his story somewhat plausible is the fact that there are no old pictures of him showing any gray whatsoever. Unless he started dying at the very first sign of gray and has been EXTREMELY consistent with it for years, maybe he's telling the truth. Probably only Beth and Ralph know for sure.

As far as the wig thing goes: lol. Ridiculous. Not even worth discussing.

I meant dye. He claims not to *dye* his hair.
