How will your kids remember this Valentine's Day?

Are you planning to surprise your little ones when they wake up in the morning?  What will you have waiting for them?  Will there be flowers, balloons, a pancake breakfast, supplies set up for arts and crafts?  What ever you choose, it will be great for you and your child to share.

You could stop at a local florist the day before and hide a flower for each of the kids to leave at their seat at the table.  When they sit down for breakfast, it'll be waiting for them.  There are many local florists in Utica, like Chester's Flower Shop, Inc. @ 1117 York Street.  If you are in Rome, try Petals of Rome for your flower needs located @ 411 N James Street, or in New Hartford, stop in at Village Floral @ 27 Genesee Street.

If your children love balloons, try your local dollar tree or Party City and grab a bunch of red heart balloons and decorate the living room with them!  You'll love the surprised look on their faces and they'll have something to play with for a couple of days.  Party City is having a sale on their heart balloons and you could snag one dozen for just .69 cents each (original price is .99 cents per balloon)!  Stop in at the New Hartford location @ 4525 Commercial Dr, Route 5A.

Heart pancakes are easy, even without a cookie cutter to make the shapes.  Simply heat the griddle, use non-stick cooking spray and make "V" shapes with the batter and hearts will magically appear!  Add sprinkles to make them fancier.

There are plenty of arts and crafts to do for Valentines Day.  Print out free coloring sheets; make hand print hearts with red paint; make cards for dad, siblings, best friends, grandparents, etc.; check out/sign up for Pinterest for more ideas!!

Make Valentine's Day a day your kid's won't soon forget!  They'll have something to talk about at school for weeks.  Don't forget a red heart shaped paper with a note in your kid's lunch box to make their day extra special.
