That's 368 National Park Service sites closed, millions of visitors turned away. State taxes and essential banking functions would go on. Whether rain, sleet, or government shutdown, the US Postal Service will still be functioning during the shutdown.
As an anti-gun supporter, one good thing comes from the shutdown because it will also affect the ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms. For those who have applied for gun permits, they will be delayed for quite some time.
If you were planning to buy a house and needed a federal loan, you will have to wait. Social Security checks continued during the last shutdown but with Obama at the helm, things could change and delay payments.
