Few things are as steeped in tradition as weddings, but more and more couples are choosing to move away from traditional weddings and make their nuptials an unique experience. There are many different ways to do this, including by customizing wedding invitations. More specifically, couples can customize the wording on their RSVP cards in order to compliment their theme or even set the tone for their wedding ceremony and reception.
For example, a vineyard-themed wedding would be a good opportunity to use language such as "wine and dine with us" or something similar on the RSVP card. Or, as referenced in the above video, a French-themed or very formal wedding RSVP card could spell out the phrase "réspondez, s'il vous plaît," which means "please reply" in French. Couples who want guests to eat, drink, and do lots of dancing may use phrasing such as "Will you celebrate with us?" or something along those lines to indicate that the reception will be a time for celebration.
Whatever phrasing you decide to use, remember to include a place for guests to indicate how many will attend. If you are having a served dinner, allow for people to indicate which guest would like which meal. That way, you can indicate meal preference on the guests' place cards and make it easier for the caterer to serve.
