How to wear silver this spring

See also

This spring, pastels will be one of the biggest trends to wear but how do you take cotton candy pink and pastel blue and make it edgy versus super girly? Add some silver! Silver is edgy and captures the light perfectly and makes the transition from sugary sweet to cool without being as obvious as mixing in black or even brown. Not to mention there's just something light and airy almost about silver that white just doesn't capture and with metallics being huge on the S/S 14 runways there's no reason to not play up the silver.

Not sure how to incorporate silver into your wardrobe? It's easier than you think. Ditch your regular black or brown pumps and slip on some silver ones. From ballerina flats to pointed toe heels and even silver accented booties silver shoe wear will be everywhere this spring. Style tip: Add a pastel blazer and silver heels to blue jeans for not so over top girl look.

During the Gareth Pugh S/S 14 runway we saw models wearing silver tops with metallic white long skirts. To avoid looking too spacey, pair a silver top with a pastel colored skirt, like a not too light blue or green.

White jeans are always hot but why not try a pair of silver jeans? They can be dressed up or dressed down and can take you from day to night easily.

Change up your normal handbag or clutch for a silvery one. A silver bag will add just the right amount of pop to any outfit.

If you love to play with different shades of makeup ass some silver to it. A smokey can look super chic when mixed it with a silver lid.

The easiest way to try to incorporate silver into your wardrobe is to just trade up your neutral items for a silver one. Once you see the difference you'll just fall in love with it too!
