How to turn in your taxes at the very last minute in Denver

There’s an old saying about procrastination- "never put off until tomorrow what you can do today." Nice ideal to be sure, but many like many people, sometimes find myself following a different rule, "never put off until tomorrow what you can put off until next week."

If this second adage more accurately represents your approach to filing your tax returns, you are not alone- the IRS says around 20% of Americans wait until the last week to file.

The good news is if you are the type to wait until literally the last minute, the US Postal Service is ready to accommodate you. Today the Downtown Denver post office at 951 20th St.(map) will stay open till midnight. So long as you get there and drop off your return before the stroke of twelve, you won’t turn into a pumpkin... er, be late filing your taxes.
