How to totally miss the character of God

There are few subjects that generate passion or interest than the subject of the Almighty. There are websites and chat room galore that deal with subjects as religion and the existence of God.

Although some really are searching for real answers, it’s quite easy separating those that have personal axes to grind concerning God’s existence and those with real agnostic issues.

Here’s an example lifted from a CNN article regarding a parent claiming to raise their kids without God. It’s rather easy to see through the presuppositions of the person. The observations are:

God is a bad parent and role model.
God is not logical.
God is not fair.
God does not protect the innocent.
God does not teach children to be good.
God teaches narcissism.

Obviously there is much negativity conveyed in the story that is suppose to be reasons why this confused parent rejected bringing up their children according to a Biblical God. All the reasons are negative and lack any viable truths that should have been extrapolated from Sunday School.

This parent’s knowledge of God falls woefully short of the God that is disclosed in the Bible. One would hope anyone with such a misconception about God would keep those biased opinions from those really searching for answers.

This mother that opted not to raise her children under her concept of God chose a good path since her opinions are prejudiced with either bad examples of who God really is, or perhaps suffered hurt from Christians that sometimes can be the worst advertisement for either the Protestant or Catholic denominations. The Lord knows there are plenty of those.

There are plenty of poor examples of believers that are suppose to be shining examples of God’s representatives, but you don’t establish a standard based on the failure of those that are suppose to be examples of godly living. One needs to separate human fallacies from the standard that is suppose to be Christ like examples.

This mother that decided not to raise her children to believe in the God of the Bible fails to rightly divide the word of truth in a variety of examples. People import the consequences of sin and expect God to put everything in proper order and understanding. The fact the Earth is in a fallen and corrupted state has those as this misinformed mother expecting God to cancel out sinful results and have perfect order and fairness in all things. This idealistic state is not how our world operates.

It’s quite normal for those not in the know to point to God and say, “why don’t You do something about it?” Instead of looking to make little “g”s in God when addressing God’s character, they should try opening the Bible and read about the gospels which does an outstanding job of revealing God’s nature through Jesus Christ.

One will easily find out God already did something about this mess on Earth.

There are many claiming Christianity; be it a church or individual. But there are far few that actually practice Christianity. Just because there is a cross on the front of the building doesn't mean it's a "Christian" church or organization. Jesus Christ warned that "many shall come in My Name...
