How to speed up your fat loss by alternating pilates-cardio intervals

Pilates has been proven to be an excellent toning workout for your entire body. Adding cardio intervals to it can help you get a leaner and longer body in half the time since you burn more calories this way. Naturally, you will also increase your flexibility and decrease the risk of injuries since pilates strengthens your body by stretching and toning your muscles.

The key is to keep moving without breaks in this interval workout and alternate between two minutes of intense cardio and two pilates exercises (see video on left). You can choose between any kind of cardio that gets your heart rate up, like jumping jacks, treadmill, exercise bike or any other cardio exercise. Be sure to use a stop watch or timer app on your android. Follow the exercises in the pilates workout video in chronological order.

  1. Start with 2 minutes of intense cardio of any kind.
  2. Perform 2 exercises from the pilates video
  3. Repeat until you have completed all exercises in the video
