As your character runs through Temple Run, the game will speed up. If you find yourself going too fast and want to slow down for a bit, you can intentionally trip on a tree root or bump into the side of a wall to slow down.
Remember: Tripping twice in a row within a short amount of time will allow the monkeys to catch up with you. And you don't want that to happen. They have very sharp teeth and nasty claws.
