To present eligible AMEX Cardmembers with special offers and discounts via their Twitter feeds, American Express and Twitter teamed up to launch AMEX Sync a year ago, last March. The program's success was unquestionably the green light to roll out the exciting, new AMEX Sync shopping feature. As of Monday, February 11, 2013, users can now make product purchases on Twitter.
"Based on the initial success of Amex Sync for offers, we know there is significant power in combining our assets with Twitter’s platform to bring value to card members and merchants,” said Leslie Berland, Senior Vice President, Digital Partnerships and Development at American Express.
Here's a summary of how it all works:
AMEX Sync Sign up- Sync your eligible AMEX card with Twitter at: americanexpress.com/twitter. Your information will be kept confidential and secure. Make sure you continue to follow AMEX Sync for hastagged special offers.
Redeem Special AMEX Sync Offers- Tweet the offer with the hashtag, make the qualified in-store or online purchase, and your AMEX statement will be credited with the savings within 8 weeks.
AMEX Sync Purchase- To make an Amex Sync product purchase, just tweet the special product hashtag, confirm the order, and it will be delivered to you.
You can also sync your AMEX card with Facebook and Foursquare. For more information, the AMEX SYNC FAQ page here, and the Youtube video on the left are both very helpful.
