Many adults have a teacher who has made a profound impact on their lives. And all of us can agree that teachers work hard.
As a former teacher, I can attest to the dedication it takes to teach. Teachers easily work 12-plus hours for preparation, training, grading, and paperwork. We tailor our classrooms and instruction to meet individual needs. We teach kids about kindness, forgiveness, the importance of learning and hard work. And we facilitate the highly individualized art of growing up.
All this at an average salary of $55,000--why?
The answer is simple: it's worth watching kids grow into successful (academically and morally) young adults.
Tomorrow, October 5th, is World Teachers' Day. Make sure to thank your teacher and remember: it doesn't take much to please us! Every Thank You email and every hand-drawn illustration makes us feel like the luckiest teacher in the world.
And now, Cheerios® is making saying Thank You easy. From now until mid-October, specially marked Cheerios® boxes will feature a Send Cheer to Teachers postcard that families can cut out and personalize to go along with your child's lovely and accurate hand-drawn portrait.
Also, families can enter their schools for a chance to win one of five prize packages by entering the codes found inside the boxes online at btfe.com/sendcheer. The grand prize package is made of 100,000 Bonus Box Tops* and $10,000 worth of school supplies**. The other four prize packages are made of 30,000 Bonus Box Tops and $2,000 worth of school supplies.
