Many of us who have cell phones understand how important they are to our daily lives. However, we also wish we could save money on our wireless bill. Therefore, here are four ways you can cut costs on your monthly cell phone bill.
Lower data usage
Having the internet on our phone is a nice luxury. For some of our phones, they will not function right without data. Therefore, we have to pay the costs for data.
However, if you sparingly surf the web on your cell phone, considering switching to a phone that does not require data usage. Or, if your phone has wifi capabilities, consider only surfing the web when your phone is within wifi access range. I did this for 10 months and saved over $400 total.
Lower text message amount
Sending text messages is fun and convenient. However, for some of us, we really do not send that many. Therefore, we do not need unlimited text messaging.
Take a look at your monthly statement and view the number of text messages you send in a normal month. You may be able to lower your text messaging rate and save yourself some money.
Get a house phone
Rather than having unlimited minutes, you can manage to do your outside of the house calls with only 500 minutes a month. This can be done by having a home phone (landline). Also, rather than using your cell phone at work or at home, try sending e mails or if you have internet access and a computer.
Try a family plan
As we know, many things are cheaper when they are done together. One of those things can be your cell phone bill when you share it with someone else.
On that note, consider trying a family plan with your cell phone provider. You can save yourself $20 or more a month when compared to an individual plan.
