How To Recycle Ziploc Bags

Los Angeles is full of eco-conscious people, but even some of the most eco-aware residents still use Ziploc bags out of convenience. If you are one of those people, there is a way to feel better about the fact that you aren't using reusable bags instead of Ziplocs.

You can now recycle Ziploc bags thanks to a relationship the company developed with Recyclebank. If you have ever visited a grocery store, you've probably noticed the recycling bin for the grocery store's plastic bags.

Did you know that clean Ziploc bags can also be recycled in those stations? And, you can even get rewards from Recyclebank for recycling your Ziploc bags.

How does it work?

  1. Purchase specially marked boxes of Ziploc Snack and Sandwich bags when you see “Ziploc brand bags are now recyclable” on the top of the box.
  2. Find the Recyclebank Points Code printed inside the box and enter it in the points code box on the Recyclebank website.
  3. Recycle your clean and dry Ziploc bags at your local grocery stores’ plastic bag recycling center.
  4. Use your points for rewards like discounts on Ziploc products and more.
