How to prevent the morning frost on your windshield from making you late (Video)

There is nothing more annoying than going outside to your vehicle to find the windshield covered in a thin layer of frost. It is especially frustrating when you are running late. That thin layer really adheres to the glass taking a lot of time, energy and patience to scrape it all off before you head out on your way.

There is an easy little trick to prevent that thin frost or ice layer from keeping you from your appointed rounds.

The first thing to do is before shutting off the ignition, turn on the windshield wipers. Then shut the car off while the wipers are standing straight up in the air. Then take a large piece of cardboard, a large plastic bag or even brown grocery bags and place them over your windshield. Keep the covering of your choice in place with the wipers blades. Then go into the house and finish the day with a little piece of mind.

The next morning the dew that freezes up will not be stuck to the car’s windshield. The protective barrier enforced the evening before has just made your morning easier. Now you won’t have to stand outside freezing and scraping off that thin layer of frost that seems impossible to remove.

There is another use for those brown lunch bags too. Place one on each of the side mirrors of your vehicle. Tie them on with a piece of cord, a rope or a heavy duty rubber band. This will shield the mirrors from frosting up as well.

Then each morning remove the rope ties, brown bags, plastic bags or cardboard that is used and store them in the back seat or truck so they are readily available to apply to the car again that evening.

Now enjoy a stress-free morning and not worry about frosted windshields ever again.
