Maintain a healthy diet

Yes you heard it all before but it is the truth certain foods will hurt your heart and other will help prevent a heart attack.  Cholesterol and saturated fat clog your arteries with fatty deposits called plague. Trans fats and too much salt will give you high blood pressure.  Choose a healthy diet including fiber and whole grains.  Your doctor can help you find a dietitian to help create a good diet that will keep your heart healthy.

Exercise

Exercising on a regularly basis will improve blood circulation and in turn improve the heart muscle.  A 30 minute walk once a day can improve your health, lower your weight, improve conditions such as diabetes, and improve your heart.  It will also prevent the risk of acute coronary syndrome.
