Selling on eBay is always a challenge, but holiday selling presents unique challenges. Here are some tips to help you have a successful holiday selling season.
Always Offer Buy It Now to all of your listings. This will help you sell to procrastinators who don’t have time to wait out an auction. Make sure you research pricing to get the best price possible.
Be aware of shipping deadlines. Visit the USPS website for cut off dates for Priority, Express, and Parcel Post mailing dates to ensure packages will arrive before the holiday. Set up carrier pickup in advance now. As long as you have 1 Priority package a day, you can schedule carrier pickup. You don’t have to know exactly what you will be shipping each day – just give a ball park estimate of how much you expect to ship out each day.
Add the Best Offer option to your listings. This can be effective when you have people who just bought an item browsing in your store or when people are trying to use combined shipping. You certainly aren’t required to accept an offer, but it can give buyers are positive impression of you and open up more opportunities for sales.
Stay on top of shipping orders. Ship daily if possible. Shipping quickly is a customer courtesy and the USPS will be dealing with high volumes. You want your customer to receive his package on time and leave positive feedback for you.
Take care of personal tasks now before the frenzy begins. Put up decorations, do personal shopping, wrap gifts, and bake goods now. You won’t have to take time away from your business to do these things later.
