How to paint stripes on a wall in three easy steps

Yes, painted stripes look great, but few do-it-yourselfers are foolish enough to think they are easy to do. Yet, despite this the lure of painted stripes is unmistakable. Painted stripes have a transformative power. Wide, colorful stripes add a bit of whimsy to a room, while narrow, more muted lines exude a certain sophistication. Yet when it comes to actually painting stripes, the precision work can often be tedious and time-consuming.

Now there is a new took that makes painting stripes easier. The tool is called the U-Stripe It & Design tool.  The U-Stripe It & Design tool makes these jobs simpler and ensures even lines by combining the qualities of a chalk line, tape measure and level into one handheld tool.

Here's how it works:

Step One: Determine the desired width of the stripes you want to create, and then lock the tool in place. When locking the tool, place it on a hard surface then fasten the wing nuts tightly.

Step Two: Place the tool in the top corner of the wall; be sure to check the level to assure accuracy. Using 1-inch delicate blue painters tape, place the tape on the outside of the tool, extending it from top to bottom, creating you first stripe to be painted.

Step Three: Position the tool over the tape, which was just placed on the wall during step two, using the inside of the tool as your guide; place the next strip of tape on the outside of the tool extending it from top to bottom. Remember this is you non-painted stripe, it will appear smaller.

After Step Three, place the tool on the outside of the tape, which was just placed on the wall during Step Three, using the full width of the tool repeat Step Two, then repeat Step Three, until the room is completed. Again Step Three is the Non-Paint Stripe and is going to appear to be smaller.
