Independence Day is celebrated every year on the 4th of July and traditionally it is associated with parades and lots of fan fair. It is a day that friends and family love to use to come together to share in the fun and it is customary to put a little extra effort into the celebrations. The following are a few tips to help you to throw a smashing 4th of July party that everyone will enjoy.

Set a Budget

One of the most important elements is the budget. You need to figure out how much you can afford to spend because this will affect every other aspect of your plans.

Decide on a Location and Choose Your Decorations

Whether your party will be held in your back yard or somewhere that may be a bit grander depends on the scale of your party. If you are planning to host several members of the community, for instance for a neighborhood celebration you may need to rent out a hall with sufficient parking and bathroom facilities. You also need to choose your decorations and make sure that there is a healthy dose of red, white and blue.  A location at a park or pavilion is a great option. In Cedar Rapids, you can contact the local Parks and Recreation Department.

Work on Your Guest List

You might have to be selective or you may be able to be very flexible with your guest list and allow friends to bring others, but it is important to be clear about what you expect. You don’t want to run out of food or drinks because your guest list got out of hand.

Recruit Some Help

If the task of supervising the various functions, such as menu planning and food preparation, decorating and probably even sending out the invitations proves to be too much for you to handle, recruit some help!

Have Fun!

Above all, make sure that your guests have a great time and you are able to enjoy the fruits of all your hard labor as well.
