With the recent news about the breakup of Seal and Heidi Klum and of Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore, once again the dreaded d-word, divorce, is in the news spotlight. Most people think that if you consider what celebrities experience in their lives, it is no surprise that marriages in Hollywood do not last. However, what most people do not know is that good marriages as well as the sufferings from divorce are typically the result of several factors common to everyone, not just celebrities.
This article is the first installment in a series of articles dealing with marriage and divorce. As a Pastor and Biblical counselor at Selah Mountain Ministries in Albuquerque New Mexico who has counseled couples for over ten years, it is hoped that this series will both enlighten and give hope to those who are married or considering marriage, have suffered a divorce or are headed for divorce, or just want to learn more about the topic.
With the above being said, this series will address marriage and divorce from a Biblical perspective. It will include information presented in counseling, articles, marriage seminars, and marriage counseling materials developed as part of the author’s work helping couples and individuals in Albuquerque and elsewherw.
This series will address the following areas as well as others when it comes to marriage and divorce:

· How does one deal with a divorce?
· How do you protect yourself and children from the fallout of divorce?
· How do you find peace and joy after divorce?
While the topics are numerous and it is impossible to cover everything, your feedback and questions are encouraged and welcome. However, it is asked that all feedback and questions be presented with the intent of seeking answers and helping others. Likewise, in some cases, a recommendation to seek further help may be offered to address your specific situation.
