How to move from NH to VT in 98 easy banana boxes - enabled by Bridges Movers of Exeter

Scene I:
Disorganized Elderly Couple learn their apartment has been rented earlier than they thought. The good news: they can end their lease a month early. The bad news: they have ten days to move.

Music: Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov Flight of the Bumblebee

Location: Exeter, New Hampshire
Near the Bandstand

Weather: Rain   62F

Scene II: Bedlam.

Elderly Couple must quickly find place to live in Burlington, VT. No room yet at The Senior Inn (fictitious name). At least they are still on the waiting list. Surf Internet and write down names and numbers of apartment houses asking if they have monthly rentals. Have to stay loose in case The Senior Inn gets an opening.

Openings are not predictable. Residents don't plan to move out. It's usually their kids who make those plans for them.

No luck. Everybody wants a year's lease. Next step is to find an 'extended stay' hotel or motel. Web search again and several phone calls. Then luck! Made reservation for one month stay, maid service and continental breakfast included. How great is that?

Scene III: The Action.

Original arrangements for family help in moving falls apart. Now what? Internet to the rescue again. This time Bridges Bros. Movers comes to the rescue.

9:00 a.m. - call Bridges (603-772-8200) Receptionist says Jim will come over at 2:00.

2:00 p.m. - Jim Cipollo, President of Bridges arrives, clip board in hand, casts an eagle eye over the bedlam, sits down, does some figuring and by 2:30 the quote is done. His men will arrive early on the morning of the move, pack the van and take it right up to Burlington Storage, unload and wave goodbye to Elderly Couple who then slip across US 7 to their 'extended stay' hotel and collapse.

Jim even took the time to sit and talk Harley.
seems he drove trucks cross country for several years and carried his bike along with him. Since Elderly Couple have a few Harleys in the family, it made for a reassuring connection.

Now to pack. Original plan with family 'movers' - use many small relatively light weight boxes.
Source 1: liquor store. Brand not important, but having all those honeycomb innards is great for packing glasses. Source 2: Shaw's. Banana boxes - big and sturdy to pack pots, pans and other cookware.

Bridges' quick, professional service will give the Elderly Couple
a good night's sleep and a chance to look forward to the move with
eagerness instead of fear. Thank you, Jim.
