How do you market and sell your business?

In order to effectively market and sell your business you must understand the behavior and habit patterns of your target customer. Make sure you understand where they buy and how often will they need your services.

Do some focus studies--Make sure your product or service is in demand. Do some benchmarking--- How much does your competitor charge for the same products or services? Consider the market--What’s the total market size and who are you trying to reach. Ask yourself, how are you different from the other company selling the same services?

Once you know your customer you can begin to market and campaign to reach your customer base.

Marketing techniques:

Grassroots marketing: This is when you campaign in your community and through your inner circle. Grassroots marketing is one of the cheapest ways to market your business and services.

Public relations: Have announcements placed in editorial. This is a low cost method of getting the word out.

Affiliate marketing: You place links on someone else’s website and you benefit from the traffic that their website drives.

Online marketing: Create a blog; newsletter; or market via your business website.

Traditional advertising: Get an ad in the newspaper; billboard, radio, etc.
