How to make your community newsletter easier to publish

There are many great ways to keep the members of your community informed about what is really going on. Some HOAs in South Florida broadcast their news on closed circuit television, others utilize a traditional bulletin board outside the clubhouse, and others still produce a newsletter. A newsletter is a nice way to inform residents and visitors to your development about various activities within the community. They can be as simple as a one page letter, or a more complex news-magazine. It all depends on the needs and desires of your community.

AtHomeNet, Inc., a web services company in metro Atlanta recently released  a new online service for the creation and delivery of community and association management newsletters.  Newsletter Architect provides professionally designed templates for customization by users to suit their community’s needs and personality.  Their collaboration with SouthData, Inc. allows users to print and mail their newsletters with a click of their mouse.  Users can also email the newsletter or post it on their website.

Community websites are the ultimate communication tool for homeowners associations and management companies, however, a printed and mailed newsletter can significantly extend the reach of their message,” remarked AtHomeNet CEO, Susan Sanders.  “This powerful, yet straightforward community resource not only extends the reach of a message, but decreases the time and effort creating a custom newsletter requires.”

Newsletter Architect provides multiple professionally designed templates for users to choose from and the ability to place their own articles, photos, advertisements and more into the layout.  Once the newsletter has been created, users have the option to email it to their address book, post it to their AtHomeNet website, or print and mail the newsletter via SouthData, Inc.

SouthData, Inc., based in Mount Airy, North Carolina, is a full-service document management provider specializing in high quality printing, distribution and mail services, including many other document and printing services.

“During the last 25 years, SouthData has continued to develop new relationships with like-minded partners. A great example is our relationship with AtHomeNet and this exciting, industry-changing newsletter publishing program,” said Mickey McGuire, National Sales Manager for SouthData, Inc.

Newsletter Architect is available exclusively with AtHomeNet community and association management websites.  Printed newsletters are available in full color in large or small quantities, all organized on a dashboard, allowing users to view all newsletters from in progress to completion.  For more information about Newsletter Architect and other features of AtHomeNet websites, visit www.AtHomeNet.com.

In the Summit Run community in suburban West Palm Beach, the newsletter idea was tried in the past. It listed some of the ideas that the President of the Board of Directors had to improve the community, and actually succeeded in increasing community involvement. The main obstacle to creating and maintaining a newsletter is the time and aggravation required to produce it. The program provided by the AtHomeNet service seems to ease some of the aggravation involved, and may help communities across the country to produce high quality, low cost newsletters. Only time will tell.
