Once you have worked all day, helped the kiddies with homework, changed diapers, made snacks and dinner, often times it’s easy for one to fall into a slump at the end of the day. The kind of slump where you know there are foreign objects of some sort in your hair but you are too exhausted to investigate. When, your husband has to nearly drag you away from Pinterest because peeling yourself away to do anything productive is too painful to even think about. Or, having to leap over piles of laundry and scattered toys each night has become your definition of exercise. It happens to all of us. Being a working mother can be completely exhausting and tiresome and the toll it can take on our lives extreme. Here are some ways to lessen the headaches and stress.
Systems: Developing systems to tackle housework, homework, or working from home, works! Coming up with a schedule that isn’t too overwhelming and can work for you and your family equally is important.
Preparation: Being a working mother is all about time management and being able to balance your time between your children, your job, your husband, your interests, and your family and friends is no easy deed. Being prepared for your day to day activities is a huge way to lighten your load. Having a place for everything in your home can be a wonderful thing! This way, there is no confusion, no clutter, and no headache. Having a mess-free area to work in, cook in, have family time in, or simply be in is a sure way to help you relax and be your most productive self in that environment.
Share the load: Have your husband, children, and willing friends do what they’re able to do. Especially the children where age appropriate. There is no reason why they
Stay Social: Scheduling time with family and friends is that break you owe to yourself. Completely worth to yourself. Definitely needed.
Focus: Taking time to yourself, where you sit back and think about the reason why are you so stressed, overworked, and underpaid makes it all worth it. Whatever reason you have returned to the workforce, you're there. When you're down for the count, knowing that you're working hard for the ones you love helps. It's an instant joyful feeling. Perhaps the right amount of boost you need to get that dusting done, no?
All of the above are simple ways to give some peace of mind in your daily activities as being a working mother.
