I'm always reading books on marketing and promotion. One I am currently reading that offers a lot of valuable information is the Kindle version of "Email Marketing Power: 49 Email Marketing Secrets That Will Jump-Start Your Business and Produce Dramatic Results," by Jason G. Miles.
I've found this book to be quite useful, and quite surprising. I thought that email marketing was dead but that is not the case. The rules have changed. Ignore them and you waste a lot of time. Follow them and you just could make some money. Maybe a lot of money.
According to Miles, not only is email marketing thriving, it has unmatched marketing power.
Email marketing takes two skills: name acquisition and content management. That is, get people onto your email list and then provide them with valuable content that can also lead to a sale.
If you can do that, you can use email marketing to sell products, launch new products, leverage your list to increase your social media influence and increase your influence overall, Miles says.
Simple enough concepts, but they do take some work. And guidance.
If you have a book, you can also use your email list to make it an Amazon Bestseller.
Some of the topics that Miles covers in his books are:
The Agora Model of email marketing
Be the Opposite of a Spammer
Focus on their interests, not your products
The magical motivating sequence
How to create scarcity
How to create viral sharing and more.
This book is a quick read and I recommend it. Learn more at the sales page on Amazon.
