How to make moisturizing liquid African black soap (Photos)

For a few months now, I have been liquefying raw African black soap. You might ask why would I liquefy it? Raw African black soap is amazing all in itself by breaking off a piece and using it that way. But for some users, including myself, I use African black soap as a body wash, a face wash and as a shampoo. Liquefying black soap can also lessen the intensity as black soap can be pretty harsh, especially if you are using it for your face. If you would like to learn how I liquefy African black soap to make as a face wash, then keep on reading.

Please note that there is no right or wrong way to liquefying black soap. There are a variety of ingredients that you can use in creating liquid black soap. This is just how I prefer to make it. Sometimes I like to, hypothetically speaking, eyeball my measurements. You can adjust the amount and the actual ingredients to your preference.

You will need:

  • Raw African black soap
  • A empty bottle
  • A plastic container
  • Measuring spoons (optional)
  • Saran wrap or aluminum foil
  • Grater (optional)
  • A few drops of vitamin E oil (to perserve the mixture)
  • A tablespoon of vegetable glycerin
  • A teaspoon of Jojoba oil
  • 2 cups of distilled water

1. Break off sections of the black soap and place it in the container. You can grate the black soap instead of breaking it off in sections to make it easier and less messy.

2. Take 2 cups of distilled water and add it to the black soap.

3. Now add a tablespoon of vegetable glycerin to the mixture.

4. Add a teaspoon of Jojoba oil to the mixture.

5. Next, add a few drops of vitamin E oil. My preference is about 10 drops.

5. Stir the mixture to blend the ingredients together.

6. After mixing, cover and let sit for at least a few hours or overnight.

After the mixture has been allowed to sit, go ahead and add it to the empty bottle. Each time you use the mixture, shake the bottle to make sure the ingredients are blended together again as some of the ingredients can settle to the bottom of the bottle. Depending on the size of the bottle, this mixture can fill at least one bottle. If you need to make more than one bottle, then adjust the ingredients. One bottle can last me at least a couple of weeks.
