When you spend 8 hours or more a day at the office then you want to make sure that the work environment is as friendly as possible. You want to enjoy your work and you want to be excited about showing up to the office every day. We all have had some type of experience when the people that we worked with on a team or in a company did not really appreciate us. If you ever have any social get together at the office for team building and you are the one standing by your self the you realize how heart breaking this really is. Sometimes there is no reason why people do not want to socialize with you but it does make the work environment so much better if you are part of a network of professionals at a job that really care for you. We all need to feel wanted and appreciated. This is all part of our nature as human beings. We do have some tips to help you make some friends at work.
This tip has worked well for us in the past and that is to bring in donuts. Sugar is everyone’s best friend, especially on donuts. You can drink a nice cup of coffee with a glazed donut to help keep you going at the office. When you bring in donuts, send an email to your team that you have brought in some desert that you would like to share with everyone and they are sitting right on your desk. Tell people to stop by anytime and to pick up a donut. This way when people stop by your office, you would have a chance to talk with them. You would be surprised about the amount of people who would show up to your office that you may not even know. This would be a good chance to build up your network and make some friends at work. So, the next time that you would show up to a social gathering at the office then you should have a crowd of friends spending some time with you.
