Halloween is on it's way. If you like your costumes a more on horrific side, some realistic fake blood might come in handy. Don't bother to buy it when it's so easy to make. The ingredients are cheap and you probably all ready have them in your kitchen cabinet. Here's a short video from 5min.com to show you how.
Note: if you think the fake blood isn't creepy enough for you. Here's an interesting fact about red food coloring. Did you know that red colorant in foods and many cosmetics comes from the Opuntia (Dactylopious coccus), a type of beetle that lives in cactus? Yes, it's true. This includes those little bottles of food coloring you get at the market to color the frosting for your cupcakes. Mmm. Tastey. If you've been eating anything red, from candy to mixers, you've likely ingested a fair amount of this ground up beetles. Feeling a little more creeped out by fake blood now?
