How to Make an Oven Baked Pork Taco

This recipe makes for 16 servings or 8 if every one gets 2 tacos; it takes about 25 to 30 minutes for the preparation and 15 minutes to cook. Or you can also use two tortillas per taco to make them a bit more sturdy. This recipe makes for a good meal or snack, however does not refrigerate well, it is best consumed as soon as ready for best taste.

Some nutrition facts for this meal are that for two tacos the calorie count is of about 290 with 2 grams of fat, 1 gram of sugar and 10 grams of protein

Ingredients and Items Needed:

16 ounces of pork (shredded)

16 tortillas (corn work best with this recipe, but you can try them with flour tortillas as well)

Non stick spray

3 sliced tomatoes (medium)

½ a sliced onion

1 cup of tomatillo salsa

½ cup of sour cream

Foil

2 big baking sheet

Bowl

Pan

Directions:

  1. First thing to do is to pre heat the oven at 450 Fahrenheit degrees and place some foil onto the baking sheet and spray with non stick spray all over them.
  2. Slice the onions and tomatoes; and remember that when cutting the onion to either place it in the fridge for an hour before or make sure that you rum the knife under cold water for a minute to not cry
  3. Next heat the shredded pork in a pan on medium heat until they are fully cooked and if there is any fat left, discard it, and place the meat in a bowl
  4. At this point spray the tortillas on both sides with the non stick spray
  5. Place the tortillas in the baking sheet and place them in the oven for 5 minutes keeping the oven at 450 Fahrenheit degrees
  6. Remove them from the oven and fold them in halves and wrap together with foil
  7. At this point you can fill the tacos with a ¼ of a cup of shredded pork, the tomato slices and the onion slices
  8. Now place 8 tacos on each of the baking sheet and bake 5 more minutes keeping the oven at 450 Fahrenheit degrees
  9. Take them out and add the sour cream and tomatillo salsa on top
  10. Put back in the oven for the last 5 minutes and serve immediately
