How to make a felt fall table runner

These beautiful table runners will add a touch of fall to any room in the home.  They will look lovely on a entryway table or coffee table.  They can also be made in a smaller version and used as fall placemats for a dining room table, or used as a decorative touch under a vase.

Felt Fall Table Runner

  • Orange and red felt (or any color that symbolizes fall)

  • Scissors

  • Pins

  • Embroidery floss matching red felt

  • Embroidery needle

  • Fall stencil

  • Marker

1. Cut the red felt in the length that fits the table you want covered.  Cut the orange felt one inch larger on all sides.

2.  Trace the fall stencil on the red felt with the marker. Cut out stenciled pattern. Repeat this pattern until the red piece of the table runner is completely stenciled and cut.

3.  Place the red felt stenciled piece centered on top of the orange felt.  Pin into place.

4.  Use the embroidery yarn and needle to sew a running stitch around the edges of the fall table runner. Once edges are completely sewn, remove pins.

For an added touch of elegance, sew sequins and beads around part or all of the stenciled design.

Walmart on 863 Harvest Lane in Williston, Vermont has a great fabric and craft section, and all the supplies needed for this fall craft project.
