How to live a happier and more fulfilled existence

It’s funny, most of things that you want out of life can happen just by making the decision to do so. No one can eat healthy for you, exercise for you or live a happy life for you, it’s something that you must do for yourself. But you ask, how? When it comes to living a happier and more fulfilled existence naturally the first step is deciding that is what you want for yourself.

It can be a difficult challenge to leave the past behind and move forward but it’s an essential component to happiness. Always remember what you have learned from the past but don’t dwell on it, let go. Past experiences in life, good and bad, make up who you are today and it’s important to embrace those lessons. Happiness is growth.

Once you have made the decision to live a happier life today and leave tomorrow behind the toughest work has been done. The secret to living a more fulfilled existence every day is to be present in each moment as much as you possibly can. What this means is no matter what you might be doing such as reading a story to your child, watching a movie with your husband or cooking dinner for your friends, step out of yourself and appreciate the moment.

Time goes by so quickly and moments become memories within minutes so being aware of what you are experiencing when it’s actually happening will make you more appreciative of your life and therefore happier. Being mindful of the people and experiences that surround you each day because even an uncomfortable situation or sad moment can be meaningful in many ways. It’s truly that simple.

Yoga is an exceptional tool that helps you live in the present moment. With the focus, breathing techniques and gazing point learned through the practice happiness is fulfilled naturally. Just the act of emptying your mind and giving yourself the time on your yoga mat teaches you to live presently and that is taken with you long after your practice. Meditation is another way to find calm and peace while remembering to be present. The best meditation chair can help you do just that.

Never lose site of what’s most important which is the present moment regardless of what is going on in your life. Find ways to rid yourself of distractions such as your cell phone and give your undivided attention to what you are doing right now. Focus on one task at a time, remind yourself to be present, remember to breathe and reap the benefits of happiness for the rest of your life.
