If you've ever wondered what the right process is for launching a 2011 Mustang GT, look no further than the following clip. First, you must build the motor to run a 10 second quarter mile. This isn't very tough since the stock version of the GT will run high 12's around 112 miles per hour. Adding additional flow to the motor by porting the heads, boring the cylinders, extending the stroke, adding headers, and improving the air intake qualities by means of forced induction and a high flow intake can easily send the 2011 Ford Mustang GT into the tens if properly tuned. Now that you've got your power rating up, throw on a set of slicks and you're ready to go. That's the beauty with the new 5.0, it's practically a beast straight from the factory and has a plethora of modifications just waiting to be had.
Launching the 2011 Ford Mustang GT is more of an acquired skill than anything. It takes time, practice, and basic knowledge of physics. Using an aftermarket ECU for launch control, set the launch just slightly before your peak torque rating. This will give the engine time to build power instead of lose power. If you set the launch control right at peak levels, chances are once you finally get moving you're engine will be losing power. I like to set my launch control about 500 RPM prior to peak rating, that way I know it will dig in and still have plenty left to go. Who said that rear wheel drive had bad traction? If it's driven properly, rear wheel drive can be just as potent as all-wheel drive; but it takes practice.
