If you didn't finish your holiday shopping on "Black Friday" and "Cyber Monday" you may be wondering if you missed all the great deals. Don't fret, there are plenty of retailers still offering amazing prices. But how do you know you are getting the best deal? Simply pull out your smart phone and load one of the following apps:
- Price Check is a free app that makes it extremely easy to compare prices on millions of items quickly before making a purchase. Shoppers can use Price Check by Amazon to scan product barcodes or snap a picture of items like books, CDs, and video games for instant item matching and price checks on identical items found online. Users can also speak or type in the name of the product to retrieve matches via Amazon.com and other online merchants.
- The Find is an app for the Droid or the iPhone. It is free and lets you search more than 320 million products from more than 500,000 stores and online merchants. If you don’t have a smart phone you can also look up items on The Find.com from your home computer.
- Google Shopper is an app for the Android. It’s also free and lets you scan the bar code or use your voice to find the product you’re looking for. It can search both online and local Tampa Bay merchants (and will even provide you directions to the store).
- RedLaser is an iPhone app that lets you scan the barcode of an item while you’re in the store and find where it may be selling cheaper. This app will also help anyone with a food allergy. Say you’re allergic to nuts, just scan the bar code of an item click “Allergen info” and it will tell you if it has nuts or eleven other common allergy items like gluten or soy.
- Shop Savvy is another great app that’s free for both Android and iPhone users. The newest version of this app has a price drop feature that will notify you when a particular product you’ve been hoping to buy goes on sale somewhere.
All of the above mentioned application are designed to help consumers get the best deal on their purchases, but some are easier to use then others. Go online and check them out before you hit the stores so you aren't waisting precious shopping time.
