A BET News and MTV News production, the one-hour live event, titled "A Conversation with President Obama," will be held on Thursday, Oct. 14 at 4 p.m., and air live across all Viacom properties including BET, Centric, MTV, MTVu and TR3S -- commercial free.
BET’s April Woodard, MTV’s Sway Calloway and CMT’s Katie Cook will serve as hosts for the town hall-style Q&A, where the president will take questions from the audience and from viewers who submit queries via Twitter.
"Our brands reach and connect with the broadest swath of young people in the U.S. because we understand their interests, their passions and their concerns," said Viacom President and CEO Philippe Dauman in a statement announcing the special forum. "We know that America's youth hold strong views about the challenges our country faces as well as their own aspirations for the future. We are honored that the President has chosen to appear on our cable networks to continue his dialogue with the nation's young people."
In addition to airing on Viacom stations, the special will also be streamed live on BET.com and CMT.com.
