Buy healthy foods and snacks. Children will eat whatever is available in your kitchen. Help your overweight child by keeping healthy food choices available. If your family is going to be out shopping or in the car for extended periods of time, be sure to pack healthy snacks to keep in the car. Send lunch to school. Another great way to help your overweight child is to pack his or her lunch for school each day. Plan ahead and prepare lunch the night before to make things easier. A healthy sandwich, fruit, whole grain crackers, and nuts should do the trick.
